His Journey
Levi Mashore, Jr. age 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at his residence. He was born January 31, 1947, in Pinewood, South Carolina to the late Levi Mashore Sr. and Mary Nell James.
In 1966 Levi graduated from Manchester High School, Sumter, South Carolina. He enlisted in the United States Army from October 1966 where he served his Country until his Honorable Discharge in October 1968.
Levi and his wife Malissa were married on August 15, 1970. To this union four children were born: Tinisha, Trevoya, Reginald, and Christel.
Levi worked with many hats, he was a maintenance man at Thomasville Inn, an insurance agent, he also worked other odd jobs while maintaining a full-time job at Thomasville Furniture-Plant C. He went on to work at Thomasville Fire Department moving from a fire fighter to a fire inspector. In January 2004 he retired 26 years and 8 months from the department after proudly serving his community. His spare time was served diligently in many organizations- NAACP, American Legion 32, Mason Chapter 189, B.O.T.S.O. (Brothers Organized To Serve Others), and Men Of Faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Malissa M. Mashore, he leaves to cherish his fond memories; Tinisha Mashore Bennett, Trevoya Mashore, Christel Mashore all of High Point, NC, Reginald Mashore of Thomasville, NC, Cassandra (Tim) Wilder of Lexington, NC, 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one brother-in-law Roger (Paulette) Conyers of Sumter, SC, a special niece, Zetta Fishel, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
